Wade Anthony, Devils@Cradle

Wade, seen here with Ossie the Tasmanian Devil in his arms, has brought another crucial dimension to one of Tasmania's most iconic landscapes, Cradle Mountain. Devils@cradle is a vital breeding facility that allows visitors to see the Devils (along with their first cousins, the Quoll) in a sanctuary and breeding facility that is as close to their natural environment as possible. A resident of Cradle Mountain for 13 years, Wade knows the area and its wildlife like no one else. Born and raised on the North West coast, Wade spent much of his childhood exploring Tasmania’s wilderness and its unique wildlife and in 2000 fullfilled a dream by purchasing a wondefully bio-diverse property on the edge of the World Heritage Wilderness of Cradle Mountain National Park.  In the initial years Wade worked as a Ranger with the Cradle Mountain Parks and Wildlife Service for several years, during this time he constructed an alpine cabin residence on the property. The Devils @ Cradle sanctuary was founded and built by Wade in 2006 and over the past 7 years the sanctuary has expanded significantly to become one of Tasmania’s leading Tasmanian Devil Sancuaries giving us an amazing insight into the mysterious world of the Tasmanian Devil, both day night. The After Dark Feeding Tours are a truly unique experience and will make your visit to Cradle Mountain an extra-special experience.
